When you need to book an emergency nanny
What happens after you book an emergency nanny
Start by selecting nanny in our search
1) Enter the day(s) you need an emergency nanny
2) Choose the hours your require
Please note there's a minimum booking time of 4 hours for an emergency nanny, and we endeavour to get a nanny to your house within 2 hours of booking (in office hours - 7:00am to 7:00pm, Monday to Friday).
3) Confirm any childcare options
If you have specific requirements, whatever they may be, please remember to let us know. For example, your child may be mildly ill, or you may have specific activities in mind for them.
4) Check the costs
Depending on your geographical area (and thus hourly rate) the amount owed is shown.
If you're happy with the amount, your credit card details are taken.
We don't charge your card at this point: it's only after your booking and the hours are confirmed that your card will be debited.
Your confirmation details will be shown on the screen and emailed to you.
What happens after requesting a nanny?
1) )Your booking is submitted to our trusted network of Nannies & Agencies
Your booking is sent out via our high-tech, secure app to fully vetted nannies managed by our trusted local agencies.
If a booking for an emergency nanny is made in the evening it will be received first thing in the morning. The email will include all of your registration details and any other information you deem relevant for the booking.
2) An appropriate nanny is sourced
Once an appropriate nanny has been found you will receive an email which will include information about the nanny. The nanny will then call you to introduce themselves and once this call has been completed the booking will become confirmed.
We expect our emergency nannies to be: over 21, experienced, DBS/PVG checked (Disclosure and Barring Service, formerly known as CRB checks), have a First Aid certificate, fully referenced and interviewed.
3) Your nanny booking takes place
4) After your booking has taken place
Once the nanny booking has been completed, only then will your credit card be debited. This allows flexibility of hours (i.e. you may require the emergency nanny for more/less hours than previously expected) and also ensures that you are happy with the service provided before you pay any money.
5) Let us know how we did
We'll send you an email asking for some feedback. We really appreciate you taking the time to let us know about your booking. We measure ourselves by the feedback we receive from parents.
